A DROITWICH author who founded a ferret welfare organisation has written a book with tips about how to look after the animals.

Anne Robinson, who founded Droitwich Ferret Welfare, has written A Fesnying Of Ferrets - A Guide To Ferret Husbandry. The book will be given away free of charge to anyone who adopts an abandoned or ill-treated ferret from the registered charity.

She said: "It is so important that everyone who has a ferret has information and advice on how to care for these lovely animals. This book will be given to anyone adopting a ferret from the welfare free of charge and will now form part of the membership pack offered by the National Ferreters Register."

Ms Robinson will be promoting the book at the Three Counties Show in Malvern in June together with ferrets Merlin and Blooms, who feature on the cover of her book.

Droitwich Ferret Welfare is a registered charity which has rescued more than 70 ferrets since January, including Nelson, a ferret who had to have one eye removed.
