PARENTS, pupils and staff across Worcestershire are being urged to sign up to a new internet search engine and raise funds for their local school.

Local schools campaigner Helen Donovan is urging people to start using www.everyclick.com The internet search engine allows users to select a charity they wish to support and then every time they search the web or shop online their charity will be rewarded with a cash donation.

Mrs Donovan, from Evesham, who has long campaigned for fairer funding for schools in the county, said she had already raised £6.18 for her daughter's school in the last two months and that if every parent used the site it could raise thousands of pounds for local schools.

She said: "It's a great way to give everyday and it doesn't cost you a penny.

"All you have to do is choose which charity you want to support, make everyclick your home page and then use it whenever you search the web or shop online."

A spokesman for the website said: "Every time you search the internet, the search engine you use rakes in advertising revenue. Use everyclick.com and half that cash could go to the charity of your choice."

It is estimated that the average user earns his or her chosen charity 1p per search. For keen surfers, that means a pound or two a month or about £20 a year.
