CUSTOMERS of a supermarket chain are being encouraged to hold coffee mornings to raise money for the Children's Society.
Staff at Co-operative are also intending to raise £1 million for the charity, with customers being given free packs to hold Fairtrade-themed coffee mornings on or around June 20.
Mark Robinson-Field, regional secretary of the Co-operative, said: "Money raised at the Fairtrade coffee mornings will directly benefit vulnerable children in the region and we will be pulling out all the stops to raise as much as we can."
Co-operative customers are invited to claim a free Fairtrade pack by caling 0800 068 6727.
