A WOMAN has admitted breaching her anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) for a 22nd time after she was again found drunk on the streets of Worcester.

Alcoholic Jacqueline Harrison was found drunk in a public place, breaching the terms of the Asbo which was imposed on her on March 15, 2004.

Worcester Magistrates Court was told how Harrison, of Gresham Road, Dines Green, Worcester, was found drunk outside a newsagent's shop in St Paul's Street and tried hiding a bottle of cider behind her back when she was approached by police officers.

The officers were driving past on patrol when they saw Harrison sitting on a wall at about 4.15pm on Tuesday, May 22.

Sally Hill, prosecuting, said: "She showed all the signs of being drunk and hidden behind her was a bottle of cider.

"She was extremely offensive to the officers. She was sitting on a wall and doesn't appear to have been bothering anyone."

Barry Newton, defending, said Harrison, who is still subject to a community order, was waging an ongoing battle with alcohol.

He said: "It's all indicative of a problem she has had with alcohol for many years. She has been the victim of serious assaults by previous partners and her solace is unfortunately the bottle. She is receiving counselling and is under supervision but the view was that you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink."

The district judge said because she was not causing a disturbance at the time, she could not receive a custodial penalty.

He fined Harrison, aged 43, £100 and told her: "Sort yourself out."
