SHOPPERS in Worcestershire are being urged to put the kettle on and brew up a pot of Fairtrade coffee to raise money for vulnerable children across the region.

Staff of the Co-operative aim to raise £1 million for the Children's Society and its partners in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and are encouraging customers to hold coffee mornings on or around Wednesday, June 20.

Regional secretary Mark Robinson-Field said: "Money raised at the Fairtrade coffee mornings will directly benefit vulnerable children in the region and we will be pulling out all the stops to raise as much as we can to help stop childhoods being stolen.

"To help people organise their own Fairtrade coffee morning we will send them a free pack with a voucher to buy some Fairtrade goodies as well as a list of products which are available in store.

"Our customers, like us, are passionate about Fairtrade and very generous when it comes to raising money for worthwhile causes such as the Children's Society."
