JEAN Armstrong has made involvement in the Three Choirs Festival and its music making in Worcester a devotion for more than 20 years.
She has met and received representatives of the community including royals, prime ministers and clergy and thousands of visitors to her events for music, flower festivals hospice events.
She said: "There have been many amusing moments but not without some headaches. I sat through some memorable and some not so memorable concerts."
Such words underestimate the impact of her efforts, which contributed mightily to the delivery of hundreds of events for the benefits of the thousands who attended and for the maintenance of a tradition of commitment by local people for local events with an international reputation.
As a member of the Elgar Birthplace Museum team she retains her connection with music and arts in Worcester with particular focus on Elgar.
Her family are among her greatest supporters and she has assembled an army of friends from the many committees she has served on.
