ENERGETIC staff raised cash for cancer sufferers as part of their Walk Wonders event.
Staff from Worcester-based energy firm npower got into their stride and raised £1,250 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 5km walk on Sunday began at npower's offices in Warndon, Worcester, to tie in with the charity's national campaign, which has the slogan "powered by npower".
The group of 125 walkers was led by Esther Povey, npower's community involvement officer.
They walked 5km, about three miles, paying £5 each to join the walk, with npower matching what they raised.
There were also a number of single green socks on display, to signal the walkers were putting their best fund-raising foot forward for Macmillan.
Esther Povey, npower's community involvement officer, said: "It was a great opportunity to get out of the office for a while and spend time with colleagues doing something different, while raising crucial funds for people living with cancer."
The group was among thousands of walkers across the country all aiming to raise vital funds the charity's £1 million target for the event.
Every walker who registers for Walk Wonders will receive a free npower pedometer and walks can take place at any time during May.
