A MASSIVE careers fair aimed at those wanting to work with children and young people is to be staged in Worcester next month.

Hundreds of people are expected at the Every Child Matters Careers Fair, which is organised by the Worcester News in association with Worcestershire County Council's Family Information Service.

The event will take place at the Fownes Hotel, City Walls Road, on Thursday, June 14, from 10am to 4pm. More than 20 organisations will host stands at the fair providing a wide range of information and advice for careers in childcare in Worcestershire.

Spokesman for the fair Sara Matthews said: "Last year we saw more than 400 people looking for opportunities and training for working with children, young people and their families.

"The day was a huge success with very positive feedback from those who took part and visitors to the fair. We are hoping that this year's fair will build on that success and will provide something for everyone."

The fair will offer advice and practical information on working with children, young people and their families; Choices Introductory programme; qualifications and training courses; employment opportunities; working with children with special needs and/or disabilities; returning to work and finding childcare; and working parent entitlements.

People are invited to drop-in at the fair throughout the day for the opportunity to speak with the various organisations first hand.
