PARENTS and carers looking for family activities and childcare during the half-term break are being encouraged to contact Worcestershire County Council.

The council wants people to make use of its family information service, which provides information and advice for families with children up to the age of 19.

Information is available on childcare and sports and leisure activities for children and young people, as well as things for families to do together during the half-term week, which starts on Monday, May 28.

Carol Andrew, manager of the information service, said: "We can provide up-to-date information to help with the half-term break.

"We have information on childcare and a wide variety of activities throughout Worcestershire.

"If parents call our helpline, we will send out the information the same day. We can also help parents find services that can help them with issues affecting their family. If they don't know who to ask, they can ask us."

Advice is also available from the service on free early education places for three and four-year-olds, employment rights for working parents, support for children with special needs or disabilities and options for those interested in working with children.

The service is open from Monday to Friday from 9am and 5pm and can be contacted on 01905 790560.
