IS THIS the most festive pub in Worcestershire?

If not, it certainly comes close as landlords Carl Gandy and Janet Barnes have transformed the inside of The Unicorn, Great Malvern, into a CS Lewis-inspired winter wonderland.

From the outside, wardrobe doors have been added to the front while a sign entices drinkers to "Step Inside Narnia" at the pub which was a favourite watering hole of the famous author.

Once inside there are "snow" covered walls and decorations while former florist Mr Gandy has put his talents to good use by creating a woodland feel.

Miss Barnes said it took four nights for Mr Gandy to decorate the pub after hours and it has left people gobsmacked.

She said: "People have been amazed, they are blown away when they have stepped in to take pictures.

"It's been great.

"We've given it a Narnia theme because of the connection to CS Lewis which is why it is decorated like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

"Carl did it all, he did all the decorations.

"He used to be a florist and loves to do stuff like this and he always does a really good job.

"The word is getting around about it and it has been absolutely amazing.

"They see the sign outside and they just want to come in and take pictures - it's been great."

While the couple are enjoying having the decorations up at the moment there is one thing they are not looking forward to - taking it all down again.

"It will probably stay up until 12 days after Christmas but it is going to be a chore taking it all down again - I'm not looking forward to that."
