THE most poignant tattoo was also the most painful for a brave fundraiser who now has a lasting tribute to a friend.

Chris Taylor, from Wakeman Street, Barbourne, spent an hour and a half at 4Ever Ink having the St Richard's Hospice inked onto his skin.

The tribute to late friend Pat Woolley, who passed away at the hospice from pancreatic cancer, has so far managed to raise just over £200 for the charity.

Tattooist Mark Williams agreed to do the tattoo for free and Mr Taylor, aged 30, said he loved the final design adding that it was a bit different from his usual tattoos.

"It's a nice lasting memory for Pat.

"Her nephew lives in London and he's been in touch and donated twice and is in awe of the fact I've had it done.

"It went really well but it was the most painful tattoo I've ever had because its on quite a lot of muscle and bone."
