THE WAY sex shop owners apply for licences could be set to change under a new draft policy put forward for public consultation by Wychavon District Council.

Residents and businesses in Droitwich, and across the district, are invited to have their say on Wychavon's latest consultation regarding its Sex Establishment Licensing Policy.

The draft policy sets out how applications for sex shops, sex cinemas and sexual entertainment venues should be made to the Council, how it will process applications and also the grounds on which proposals can be refused.

David Etheridge, the senior practitioner for Worcestershire Regulatory Services, said: “We want to hear the views of as many people and businesses as possible.

"People can download the draft policy and consultation document from our website or see it at any of our Contact Centres, and then give us their feedback either by email or by post.”

In addition, the proposed policy details the standard conditions that will be attached to any licences granted.

This consultation will be open for responses until Friday, February 19 2016, and all responses received will be given consideration by the Council before a finalised policy is approved and implemented.
