A RED Arrows display created by RAF engineers with input from the Prince of Wales and the Red Arrows display team has been loaned to a Worcester school.

The display showing the diamond nine formation of the elite Royal Air Force is on show at Christopher Whitehead Language College.

It was created in celebration of the Red Arrow's 50th year in 2014.

It was produced by the Expedient Repair training team at RAF Cosford, which teachers RAF Engineers how to carry out Aircraft repairs with minimal tools, minimal resources and in hostile environments.

Each part of the display was hand cut, shaped and filed and was put together with 3,000 rivets.

Each rivet was put in by a different member of the public during the three day Royal International Air Tattoo held at RAF Fairford in 2014.

Rivets were put in by the Prince of Wales, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Andrew Pulford, Chief of Staff of United States Air Force General Mark Welsh and members of the 2014 Red Arrows display team who the signed their individual aircraft in the diamond nine formation.

David Farmer, the school's assistant headteacher, said: "They have used it within our art lessons and it promotes the RAF as a career."
