THE TRUST which manages the Droitwich Barge Canal says it will remove a large tree which was uprooted into the watercourse during flooding of the River Severn.
On Saturday, December 5 Joshua Crump photographed the tree close to Hawford Lock on the canal, which has been closed since Friday due to high water levels.
On Monday the tree was spotted by an officer from the Canal and Rivers Trust (CRT) just upstream of Lock One of the canal, which meets the River Severn close to the A449.
The CRT said it would look to remove the tree once water levels had fallen and before it reopens the navigation.
The canal winds its way through Ladywood and Salwarpe before reaching Droitwich and then continuing to meet the Worcester and Birmingham Canal.
