ALL children born between September 1, 2011, and August 31, 2012, need to apply for a place before they can start school in September 2016, as places are no longer automatically allocated.
Applications for primary, first and middle school places are open now and close on January 15, 2016.
To help make life easier, it is now possible to apply online and the system will allow parents to see their allocated place online on offer day rather than waiting for it in the post.
Councillor John Campion, cabinet member with responsibility for children and families at Worcestershire County Council, said: "We do understand that starting school is a huge moment in a young person's life and getting it right is crucial for parents.
"We urge parents to go online and make their school preferences as soon as possible in order to give their child the best chance of getting their preferred choice of school.
"Applying online is safe, quick and easy and on offer day will allow parents to view their allocated school place online rather than facing a nervous wait for the post to arrive."
