DONATIONS are being counted following the "hugely successful" Friends of St Peter's School Christmas Market.

On Friday evening crowds of visitors flocked to the school to peruse the wide variety of stalls on offer, while helping to raise money for the school.

While final total is as yet unknown, organisers are confident a great total will have been raised to benefit pupils' education.

Parent Nicola Faning, who organised the fair with Kerri Moore, said: "The night was so much fun and attended by parents and family friends. All that we spoke to said they thoroughly enjoyed it.

"The children had fun playing games such as pluck a duck, splat the elf and skittles. They made snowflakes, coloured in masks and other items which can be hung on the Christmas tree.

"All enjoyed festive drinks and food and listened to the fabulous Salvation Army Young People's Band who played Christmas tunes to make the evening a truly magical night.

"We would like to thank all the companies that came along and those that supplied prizes for the raffle which helped make the evening one to remember, the community spirit of Droitwich is fantastic."

Youngsters enjoyed getting to meet Father Christmas at a Santa’s Grotto, while older visitors took part in a tombola, browsed craft stalls and treated themselves to mulled wine, mince pies.

Businesses which too part include Home Made Heaven, Usborne Books, Phoenix Trading, Rosie Philpott, Bluebells Florist, Barbourne Cider and Little Black Pig.

Mrs Faning added: “The event is only made possible by those in the community who could support the event and of course those on the evening who can come along and spend some of their hard earned money on some of the many activities that are taking place

“The local business community have been amazing with their generosity and we would like to thank them all for supporting the children of St Peter’s First School in Droitwich.”
