A MAN was arrested after drinking cans of strong lager at a war memorial in Malvern.
Police were first called to the bus shelter in Barnards Green, an alcohol controlled zone, following a report of two men behaving in an anti-social manner yesterday (Wednesday) at around 3.25pm.
A 61-year-old man was later found in possession of several unopened cans of strong lager, one of which he opened and drank from while sitting in the Garden of Remembrance.
The alcohol was confiscated, and he was repeatedly asked to leave the area but instead, moved to another bus stop, where he opened another can of lager and began drinking from it.
When he was approached by officers again, he became verbally abusive towards them.
Despite being warned about his language, he continued to swear and was subsequently arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
