POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash in Droitwich which left a 59-year-old pedestrian seriously injured.

At 4.25pm the man, who is thought to be local to the area, was involved in a crash with a silver Vauxhall Astra and suffered injuries to his pelvis, back, arms and head.

The incident took place in Hanbury Road, outside the Eagle and Sun pub, on Wednesday, December 2.

The man was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.

A section of Hanbury Road and Gallows Green remained closed for several hours while officers from West Mercia Police began their investigation into the incident.

Senior investigating officer Sergeant Stuart Allen from the Bromsgrove police unit was at the scene on Wednesday night, leading the investigation.

An ambulance, rapid response paramedic, a paramedic officer and the air ambulance crew from Strensham in a rapid response vehicle attended the scene.
