BEWDLEY Bridge will be closing between 6.30pm and 11pm tonight to allow flood barriers to be put up.
The Met Office has forecast heavy rain, with a potential for high water levels in Worcestershire rivers, notably the River Severn and River Teme.
Traffic will be diverted via the Bewdley by-pass, while the barriers are being erected.
There will also be a small section of Stourport Road closed for the duration while the barriers are in place.
The barriers are expected to be up for the foreseeable future.
While more rain and winds have been forecast for the weekend, water levels are expected to peak in Bewdley on Thursday.
