MALVERN College has welcomed Jonathan Dimbleby, who gave a talk on The Battle of the Atlantic, the subject of his latest book.
The talk was the inaugural lecture of the Blumenau Lecture Series, named in honour of the College’s former head of history, Ralph Blumenau.
Mr Dimbleby delivered a fascinating account of the longest continuous campaign of World War II to a packed room.
He set the military action in political context, and provided interesting vignettes about the associated disputes between key figures, such as “Bomber” Harris and Winston Churchill.
After the lecture, Mr Dimbleby signed copies of his recently published book, ‘The Battle of the Atlantic: How the Allies Won the War’.
The lecture took place on the evening of Wednesday, November 18.
