A NEW traverse wall has been officially opened at RGS The Grange.
The wall was funded by parents and was opened by Worcester Warriors player Chris Pennell.
The 16 metre wall was erected due to the generosity of families and companies who sponsored wall sections, volumes, hand grips and noodles after fundraising efforts by the PTA.
Denise Horton, chair of the PTA, thanked the donors before Mr Pennell cut the ribbon.
The money was raised via events, chocolate advent calendar and Easter eggs, sports day coffees and Halloween flashing toys.
The school's head Gareth Hughes said: "The signpost outside our school reads: RGS The Grange – ‘great oaks from little acorns”.
"This proverb encapsulates much of what we aim to achieve at the school and the value and importance we lay at giving children the most secure foundations.
"Whether this be at pre-school, reception, year 3 or year 6, these values remain the same – that all children are nurtured and cared for with the same high level of attention.
"I am sure this piece of equipment will only add to the experience here."
The wall was opened on Thursday, November 26.
