ROADS have now reopened after a bomb scare saw areas of Redditch evacuated.
Officers investigating the discovery of a suspicious package at a business premises on Albert Street in Redditch have confirmed that the package is safe.
Around 70 people were evacuated from business and residential properties in Albert Street and Prospect Hill after the discovery at 11.42am.
The roads in the area have now reopened.
Detective Superintendent Stephen Quinn said: "We would like to thank everyone in the area for their ongoing cooperation. We are conducting an investigation into this incident.
"At this time we cannot give any more details about the package but we will make a further statement when it is appropriate."
The package was found on a business premises located on Albert Street and reported to police at 11.42am.
A 100m area around the building was evacuated and it included the closure of Albert Street and Prospect Hill.
EOD (Explosives Ordnance Disposal) were sent to the scene and people were asked to avoid the area.
