BEER lovers drank more than 200 pints of real ale at the launch night for a rapidly expanding Worcestershire micro brewery.

Around 70 people joined the fun at Three Shires Brewery's opening party on Friday (November 27), held at its headquarters in Venture Business Park, Weir Lane, Worcester.

The fun included a raffle, unlimited supplies of the brewery's house ale, Hafren, plus a hog roast from a pig fed and raised on the barely grains from the brewery.

Rob Wintrip, head brewer, said: "It was a great party - a big thank you to everyone who turned up. Hopefully this is a great sign of things to come.

"I hope we contributed to some hangovers the morning after too!"

Three Shires Brewery is the brainchild of Mr Wintrip, who was born and raised in Malvern and now lives in Worcester.

He is currently brewing twice a week to produce around 1,200 litres of Hafren – a roasted chestnut coloured traditional bitter.

The ale is proving popular with punters and is popping up in pubs across Worcestershire including the Defford Arms, near Pershore, The Wheatsheaf, Worcester, The Conservatory, Worcester, The Green Dragon, Malvern, The Jockey Inn, Pershore, The Oak Inn, Defford, The Pickled Plum, Pershore and the Three Horse Shoes, Malvern.
