BUDDING young tennis players have said a big 'thank you' to a generous donor who gave their club a large cash boost.

Skipton Building Society gave Droitwich Tennis Club £500 to help youngsters interested in tennis get involved with the sport.

Niamh Hollander aged five, Ava Clive, seven and nine-year-old Ollie Whiteside all look set to benefit from the cash, which will fund equipment and introductory lessons at the Club.

Neil Bates, chairman of the Tennis Club, said: "This is a great boost to local junior tennis and we are extremely grateful to the Skipton Building Society for this and to everyone who took the time to vote for us once we had been shortlisted."

Droitwich Tennis Club is run on a voluntary basis and offers the opportunity for people of all ages to play tennis and become active members of the club.

The club has also forged links with a number of local schools and is providing coaching for pupils from St Peters First School, Chawson First School and Westacre Middle School.
