BUDDING musicians could get their big break when Upton holds its own version of smash-hit television show The X-Factor.
The Upton Factor is a new competition dreamed up by organisers of the town's annual water festival. During the festival, on August bank holiday weekend, solo performers and bands will have the chance to take to the stage and showcase their talents.
The winners of the competition will have the chance to record their track at a London recording studio. Depending on the number of entrants, heats may be held before the festival.
Entry forms are available from Upton tourist information office or at www.upton.uk.net Com-pleted forms must be submitted with a £10 fee by Sunday, July 1.
