GREEN-fingered volunteers from electricity firm npower have helped create a wildlife garden at a local school.
Ten office workers at the power giant's headquarters in Worcester visited Abbey Park First and Nursery School in Pershore after the first stage of the project last year, when a team cleared the ground and prepared it for the development of a mini-beast' environment, perfect for creepy-crawlies.
Simon Howe, who led the team, said: "Everyone I know at npower says volunteering gives a great sense of achievement and I hope my fellow grafters feel the same.
"It makes the aching muscles and the blisters all worthwhile."
The school's headteacher, Angela Beddow, said: "Developing a wildlife garden has been fantastic. It means the children will be able to benefit from the area sooner than anticipated. A big thank-you to everyone who came to help from npower."
The company operates volunteering projects, run in partnership with Community Service Volunteers, to help employees make a positive contribution to society.
