A former manager has been charged with trying to poison a resident at a home for male adults with learning difficulties in Herefordshire.
Robert Kent pleaded not guilty at Worcester Crown Court to two counts of administering a poisonous or noxious substance so as to endanger the life of Stephen Draper on September 2 and 3 last year.
Kent, aged 32, of The Old Shop, Bosbury, Ledbury, was employed by Clifford House Ltd to manage the Bryn Garth Care Home for Adults with Learning Difficulties, near Hereford. He was remanded on bail to face a trial at Hereford Crown Court on August 6.
His barrister, Mark Jackson, said Kent had been sacked from his job and was now working part-time as a long-distance lorry driver.
