THE Hive in Worcester featured as a venue in BBC Children in Need, putting the building on the national stage.
Last Friday the Hive was put on the regional and national stage for BBC Children in Need, selected to host the BBC’s Midlands coverage.
As well as being "dressed" in BBC Children in Need livery there were four live TV slots coming from the Hive during the evening’s broadcast on BBC One.
Cllr Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for Localism and Communities said: “The Children in Need coverage has certainly put the Hive on the national stage.
"It was wonderful to tune in and see the spotlight on our city and county and see the talents of our residents.
"It has been a superb experience for everyone involved and while we appreciate there may have been some inconvenience for those wanting to use the Hive on this day, we hope people will agree that this has been a wonderful opportunity for Worcester, and an unmissable chance to be part of this valuable annual fundraising event."
Graphic design and multimedia students from the University of Worcester designed posters and bunting which were prominently on display throughout the building and film production students gained valuable work experience assisting the camera crews throughout the day and evening.
