A 29-year-old care assistant has been sentenced to another 20 hours unpaid work for breaching a part of her community order.
Teresa Watson, of Battisto Walk, Malvern, had previously been sentenced to 100 hours unpaid work in July last year after she was found to have failed to notify a change of circumstances when she was claiming benefits.
Yesterday, she pleaded guilty to breaching her order having failed to attend pre-placement work sessions and only completing one hour of unpaid work in six months.
Dick Schwab from the probation service said: "No effort has been made to attend appointments or keep in touch."
In mitigation Nick Roberts said Watson had separated from her partner of 15 years and her 12-year-old son, who suffers from a heart condition, was struggling to cope with the death of his grandad.
"It has been an emotional struggle and she has not been able to concentrate on the order in any shape or form," he said.
Worcester magistrates ordered for the original order to continue, meaning Watson now has 119 hours unpaid work to complete. She was also ordered to pay £50 in costs to the probation service.
