A MAN with a drinking problem has admitted fighting with his father.

Christian Bond, aged 28, of Cornmore, Pershore, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday.

After admitting disorderly conduct, the court heard that Bond, a former heroin addict, often becomes violent and abusive when under the influence of alcohol.

Julie Rosamond, prosecuting, said: "Just before 11pm officers received a call from Sandra Bond (his mother), saying that Christian was at home, he was intoxicated and fighting with his father."

She said Bond had demanded to be let in but his father had refused and the pair argued for about half an hour before an altercation took place on the driveway.

Nick Roberts, defending, said: "It is clear that there are difficulties in this family regarding alcohol.

"Christian was brought up with a history of drinking being the norm. He actually went round that day to check that his mother was available to pick up his two children the following day.

"It is clear that his father was abusive to him, clear, in fact, that Christian had been put to the floor by his father.

"But, he was also abusive, he accepts that."

The court heard that Bond was seeking medical help, including acupuncture and counselling, for his drinking problem and if he was sent to prison he would lose that support.

Magistrates made Bond subject to a six-month conditional discharge with supervision and ordered him to pay £60 costs.
