A REVAMPED supermarket has been officially opened by a top chef.
James Garth, who creates the dishes at the Seasons restaurant at the Colwall Park Hotel, cut the ribbon at The Co-operative in Worcester Road, Malvern Link, on Saturday.
The store has undergone an £800,000 facelift and created 12 new jobs.
It is one of the first of a new generation of Co-op supermarkets and will be the blueprint for others nationally. The group has 3,300 outlets and the new-look stores will be rebranded from Co-op to The Co-operative.
Gary Heason, Malvern Link store manager, said: "The store has been totally transformed and is like a brand new supermarket."
The firm is promising a wider range of fresh and premium products and extras like recipe cards and handy tips. The store is also being powered by renewable energy.
