A MAN has appeared in court charged with making indecent images of children.
Christopher Harper, aged 56, of Homestead Avenue, Wall Meadow, Worcester did not indicate a plea to 10 charges when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester.
In total there were seven charges of making indecent images of children between September 29, 2013 and March 26 this year and three of having file wiping software on February 23 this year without a reasonable excuse which he is prohibited from having under the terms of a sexual offences prevention order made by Worcester Crown Court.
The charges relate to moving and still images and ranged from category A (the most serious) to category C.
Lesley Ashton, prosecuting, said the powers of the magistrates were insufficient and the case should be allocated to the crown court.
She said: "Some of the images are category A with a starting point of one year's custody, well outside this court's jurisdiction. I would invite you to decline jurisdiction."
The next hearing is at Worcester Crown Court on December 11. He answers bail.
