WORCESTERSHIRE'S famous son, Sir Edward Elgar, is being celebrated at Birmingham's Symphony Hall.

The City of Birmingham Choir will be performing a programme in honour of the Lower Broadheath-born composer.

Classic FM's Natalie Wheen will compere the evening, talking the audience through the development of Elgar's musical career and the concert will culminate with one of Elgar's most reflective works The Music Maker.

Adrian Lucas, master of the choristers at Worcester Cathedral, will conduct the anniversary show, which takes place on Saturday, May 19, at 7.30pm.
