THE clock will be turned back to 1860s America this weekend when the Dixie Volunteers muster at The Fleece Inn, Bretforton, near Evesham.
The American Civil War living history group, which has members from as far away as Scotland, is descending on the village to re-enact a Confederate resting camp with an armoury, a working store selling acurate period goods, a working telegraph office with a newspaper reporter and a printer and a gambling tent.
The display will also feature a street from the 1860s.
Another highlight of the day will be a patchwork quilt sewing marathon. The finished quilt will be auctioned on Sunday.
Visitors will also be able to take part in a number of events.
