A COLOURFUL day was held at a Worcester school to celebrate the arrival of May. The Kings Hawford School in Claines hosted its annual fete which included traditional stalls, dancing and lots of visitors. Headteacher Jim Turner said the day had gone very well and they were happy that the weather had been good. "We had a very good attendance. What was really nice about the day was that we had dancing to start the event off. First there was traditional dancing, and this was then followed by some Maypole dancing," said Mr Turner. Children were also given the opportunity to run the stalls. "Parents were able to walk around the stalls themselves and watch their children hard at work on them. The whole day just went very well," he added. Kings Hawford School pupils are pictured dancing around the maypole. Picture by Simon Rogers. 18024202
