A THREE-legged rescue cat who went missing for 10 days has been found safe and well.
Sesame, a tabby tom cat belonging to Chris Vaughan, of Winnipeg Close, Lower Wick, Worcester, disappeared from his new home on Wednesday, April 25.
But he was found in a garden in Croome Road on Saturday, May 5, about a mile from the house. He had been spotted a week earlier in a garden in Bromwich Road.
Mr Vaughan said: "I'm so pleased to get him back, I was starting to think I would never see him again.
"He's been on quite a mission - he looks like he's been in a few scrapes on his travels.
"He had lost his collar and had a nasty cut on his neck.
"He was also looking a lot thinner but I've taken him to the vet who gave him the all-clear. He's eating and sleeping fine again now."
Mr Vaughan put up 65 fliers across the estate and the surrounding area in a bid to find the cat, who had been rehomed from Danemere Animal Rescue in Tibberton, near Droitwich. He was also reported missing to the RSPCA, the Cats Protection website and eight veterinary practices in Worcester.
"It was worth it to get him back," said Mr Vaughan.
"The family who found him got my number from one of the fliers so I'd recommend anyone who loses a pet to try a high-visibility campaign like mine. It might pay off."
