WE had a good turnout at the meeting this month and it was nice to see some old friends again. Furthermore, we had the pleasure of receiving two new members into the branch.
The chairman confirmed that we are to go ahead with the autumn meal and hopefully to coincide with Battle of Britain week in September which will be the theme for this year. At this time, a list of those wishing to participate is being compiled and the venue will be confirmed in the near future possibly at the next meeting in May. If you have not been contacted and would like to join us, please contact John Mason for further details.
At this meeting we should also be in a position to finalise the full diary of branch and other RBL events for the year and this will be circulated on completion.
There are some dates of particular interest for members to put in their diary and these are as follows.
July 15: Three Counties Rally at Hereford (Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire). And it looks like a big event.
July 22: Drum Head Service at Leigh Church and Memorial Hall (Group 3).
August 11: Return skittles match with Powyke WI at Madresfield Club (branch).
August 27: (Bank holiday) County Gala and Fun Day at Ombersley (county).
More detailed information will be available when the diary is circulated.
The next meeting will be tonight, Tuesday, May 8, at Madresfield Club at 8.15pm, when no doubt our president will provide more delicious refreshments for us as he always does.
JOHN MASON
