RAIN didn't stop more than 1,300 school children walking, running and even paddling along the river Severn to raise money for charity.
Pupils from the King's School, Worcester; King's Hawford School, Claines, and King's St Alban's, walked from Upton-upon-Severn to Worcester yesterday as part of their annual fund-raiser.
Spokesman Russ Mason said he hoped the event had raised £25,000. "It was raining when we set off but the clouds soon cleared," he said."There was even one guy who went in his canoe on the river."
Money raised will be shared among Acorns Children's Hospice, St Richard's Hospice, Worcester Cathedral Appeal for Music and Light, the Romanian Challenge Appeal and Cancer Research UK.
