THOUSANDS of folk music fans took to the streets of Upton-Upon-Severn this weekend to enjoy the annual festival.
One of the organisers, Lisa Warburton, said the opening parade was a joy to watch: "It was just so colourful, so noisy and such fun. The parade had more than 50 dance sides, including men in green tights, who were a humorous mummers side, and some small children called Folk Frenzy who were just wonderful. There were garland dancers and belly dancers coming down the street. There were well over 100 in the parade."
The procession started at Upton church and finished by the riverfront, where each group walked under a traditional morris arch.
Other attractions included the 20-piece orchestra Bagel Fish, who play Eastern European music, and Malvern band Flatworld.
Today some traditional acts that were still to perform included Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, Karen Tweed and Roger Wilson.
Other attractions included the Upton in Bloom duck race, folk clubs, a musical meander in the local countryside and a craft fair.
Ms Warburton said the festival had been particularly busy on Saturday and Sunday.
