THE siege that earned Worcester the title the Faithful City will be remembered at a free re-enactment event this weekend.
Tudor House in Friar Street will go back in time to 1643 when the city was experiencing its first siege of the English Civil War.
The battle led to massive redevelopment of the city's mediaeval defences. People who visit the heritage centre between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, May 5, will be able to try on armour, view the plans to fortify Worcester and handle weapons from the period.
Helen Lee from the museum said: "The building here in Friar Street stood on the front line in 1643. The city walls were only feet away and the Roundheads just the other side. All 3,000 of them!
"Visitors young and old will also be encouraged to take up shovels, and put their names on the list of workers for the walls, a process carried out in 1643."
