A 69-year-old Worcester woman with a history of mental illness and depression was found hanging from a bunk bed by her daughter, an inquest was told.
Kathleen Cheetham was temporarily staying with a friend in Yarrow Close, St Peter's, Worcester, when she decided to take her own life on Wednesday, April 25.
Worcestershire coroner Victor Round said: "She was discovered by her daughter who called to see her mother and found her kneeling in the spare bedroom with a ligature around her neck tied to the top rail of a bunk bed."
He said the retired post-room worker, of Marigold Close, St Peter's, Worcester, who had separated from her husband, used a dressing gown cord to hang herself.
Mr Round said police investigated but found nothing suspicious. "She did have a history of mental illness and suffered from depression. Her social worker saw her the day before.
He said there were no suspicious circumstances and re-corded a verdict of suicide.
