THE users of a community meeting room will soon be enjoying improved access to a nearby garden thanks to grants of £6,550.
With the help of the cash boost, a window in the room at Rotary House, Corbett Avenue, Droitwich, will now be transformed into a french window onto the garden.
It is hoped it will allow people, including the elderly, infirm and disabled, to move easily between the meeting room and the garden.
Up to 600 people use the room, including the Rotary Club of Droitwich Spa, Probus groups and members of clubs and societies.
The improvements have been made possible after the Rotary House and garden management committee, a part of the Rotary Club, applied for the money from the National Lottery's Awards For All, the HBOS foundation and Age Concern England.
The Rotary Club's spokes-man Gordon Mellor said: "The room's very well used and appreciated by the local community. We try to keep it up-to-date."
Work to fit the French windows will start in June and is expected to take a couple of weeks.
Anyone interested in hiring the room should call Mr Bodger on 01905 770428 or 01905 380128.
