Worcester police are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked unconscious outside a city store.
The man was attacked outside the Spar store in Cranham Drive, Warndon, at about 10.15pm on Friday, April 13. After regaining consciousness, the victim went home, but he continued to suffer facial pains.
Five days later he went to the accident and emergency department of Worcester-shire Royal Hospital where he was treated for severe injuries to his face.
The attack was reported to police on Monday, April 23.
"Precisely how the victim came by the severe injuries is not totally clear, as some of them could have been caused by the assault and others by his fall," said a police spokesman.
"The extent of his injuries have required considerable surgery and we are keen to hear from anyone with information that will lead to the apprehension and prosecution of the person - or persons - who caused them, directly or indirectly."
Anyone with information is asked to call Worcester police on 08457 444 888 quoting 424-S-230407.
