RAIL bosses are looking at the possibility of creating extra car parking spaces at Pershore to cope with additional passengers wanting to use the improved train services to and from the town.
First Great Western has introduced new services levels which mean every train using that section of the Cotswold Line now calls at Pershore station.
But this has put extra pressure on the limited number of parking spaces available at the station and the train company together with Network Rail are exploring the possibility of extending the parking area.
A spokesman for First Great Western said: "It is something we are looking at and we are keen to pursue. It is our aspiration to improve the facilities for our customers."
The issue was raised at a recent public meeting on rail services in Pershore Town Hall and chairman of the Cotswold Line Promotion Group Derek Potter said: "We would urge that car parking extensions and improvements are pursued with some vigour."
He added that some travellers would be deterred from using the improved rail services at Pershore if they could not find somewhere to park.
