THE president welcomed members, and those from Comer, Kempsey, Littleworth and District, North Claines, Oak Apple, Callow End, Rushwick-in-Bedwardine WIs and our speaker Catherine Clark, to the meeting in Bromyard Road Methodist Church Hall.

The tea ladies, R Ruff and S Philpotts, were thanked for taking their turn, and Mrs Ruff was also thanked for the flower arrangement for the president's table to be a raffle prize.

A birthday card was given to a member whose birthday falls this month.

A very successful coffee morning at the library raised more than £100 and the support of our members was gratefully acknowledged.

The bulb scheme is operating again and C Paterson will collate this. Names were taken for the invitation to Callow End WI's Reg Moule evening.

On craft afternoon we will be making teabag cards.

The speaker was then announced and we were given a most lively talk, with modelling of the gorgeous hats we had been admiring since the start of the meeting.

Catherine showed us how to wear them should we hire one of her hats for a special occasion, and then members were able to see how they looked in their choice of hat. Admiring glances were the thing and photographs taken and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Tea and homemade cakes followed, also enjoyed, and Margaret Coward thanked Swanpool for a lovely afternoon. The raffle prizes were drawn before the meeting closed.

The next meeting is the resolutions meeting on Wednesday, May 16, at 2pm in the Bromyard Road Methodist Church Hall . C PATERSON
