PUPILS from a Malvern school sang a Beatles classic live on the radio as part of a BBC competition after coming in the top 10 schools nationwide.
All 80 pupils St James Primary School, Croft Bank, West Malvern, sang With A Little Help From My Friends by the Beatles live on BBC 6 Music.
The other schools in the competition were from across England and Wales, singing songs by a range of bands, including Guns n' Roses, Razorlight and Oasis.
Headteacher Karen Surrall said the children had been helped by Paul Farrer, who wrote the theme tune to the Weakest Link television quiz show, a parent of one of the children at the school, who provided a backing track to make it sound more professional.
Pupils came in early at 8am so they could take part in the competition but, because they are a small school, needed the help of Worcester News readers to help them get to the top spot.
