She said she was looking forward to the event, which will bethe first of its kind for the Faithful City. Miss Smith said: "It will be the first car show held in Worcester's High Street and it will be great to do something big there.
"We are more than confident it will be a great success."
VisitWorcester is a new organisation - a joint effort between the former Worces-ter City Centre Forum and Worcester City Council's tourism department. The organisation's aim is to promote the city to visitors and show them what Worcester has to offer.
Miss Smith said: "It is going to be a great day out for the whole family. There is going to be the new cars on show, quizzes for children and special shopping offers. We hope that this is the first of many similar events in Worcester.
"It is a new event and over the coming years, we hope it will grow and turn into a major annual event."
Sara Matthews, events manager for Worcester News, said she was excited also by the prospect of a major new event for the city.
Mrs Matthews said: "Cars are going to be on show in the centre. There will be up to 20 different types of car as well as exhibitions from businesses associated with the industry from in and around Worcester.
"We've had a great response from the motor dealers and hope it will be a great day."
