A TREE was planted to mark the 10th anniversary of a pre-school.
West Worcestershire MP Sir Michael Spicer planted a tree in the garden of Rushwick Pre-School yesterday.
Sir Michael was met by the school's manager, Nicola Stobbs, and joined by staff, parents and children for the ceremony at the school in Upper Wick Lane, Rushwick.
Mrs Stobbs, who has been at the nursery since it opened, said: "The pre-school offers a unique combination of friendly staff who are well-qualified and experienced who want to bring out the best in the children."
The school is run by a management committee, which is also a registered charity, consisting of parents who volunteer their time. Volunteers recently raised money for a new children's kitchen.
Sir Michael said: "I hope the tree will grow and prosper along with the school for many years."
The nursery is used by 20 children at a time and by nearly 40 families.
The school also had party a on the theme of 10, including a bouncy castle, and an open day attended by parents and prospective parents.
