GARDEN centres are being targeted by thieves this spring, warn police.
The warning follows the theft of nearly £1,000 worth of hanging baskets and small palm trees from a commercial greenhouse at Knowle Hill, Evesham.
The thefts took place between 8pm on Saturday, April 21 and 10.50am on Sunday, April 22.
A police spokesman said: "We advise garden centres to take extra care with their security at this time of the year, while individual gardeners should ensure that their garden equipment is secure and out of sight.
"There is a strong possibility that the hanging baskets and the palms will find their way to one or more car-boot sales or weekend markets."
If buyers have any suspicions they can contact police on 08457 444888, quoting 307S/220407. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
