A HEREFORDSHIRE woman will be seen in millions of living rooms from next month when she stars in a national TV advert.
Sylvia Ross, of Bangor Close, Hereford, fought off competition from 11,500 hopefuls to star in the latest Sheila's Wheels commercial promoting the women's car insurance company.
Sylvia, who has worked at the city's Marks and Spencer store for almost 25 years, is thrilled to have been chosen.
"It was fantastic, but a bit nerve-racking," she said.
"After seeing an advert on television, I sent a photo in just as a joke really. The next thing I knew, they sent me a letter saying I was down to the final 200 and then the final 50."
Sylvia, aged 54, was then invited to Shepperton Studios in London for a screening with the other women.
"They played the music from the advert and asked us to dance and sing in front of the cameras," she said. "I wasn't expecting that, but it must have gone okay."
Sylvia later found out she was one of the successful 30 who will appear on the advert which is due to be aired both on Sky and terrestrial television for six months from May 22.
